Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
The App collects only the information needed to operate the features you use:
(a) Account: name and email provided during registration, or returned from your Google or Apple sign-in.
(b) Pet records: name, breed, date of birth, optional sex, weight, microchip ID, allergies, health notes, and optional photos (a profile photo and a separately stored close-up photo) — all stored under your account.
(c) Bookings, favorites, and visit history that you create in the App.
(d) Community content: posts, comments, likes, and direct messages that you create. Other users can see public posts and the messages you send to them.
(e) Location: when you grant permission, your device location is used at the moment you open features such as nearby services or the dog walking tracker. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
(f) Device data: basic identifiers and the operating system version, used to operate the App.
The App does not collect biometric identifiers, payment card information, or advertising identifiers.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to (a) provide and operate the App's features, (b) record bookings and messages you create, (c) deliver notifications you have opted into, and (d) comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the App: (a) the names and content you choose to share with other users through community posts or messages, (b) information you submit when sending a booking request to a service provider, and (c) disclosures required by law or to protect our rights. We do not currently work with advertising networks or third-party analytics providers.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Account, pet, booking, and community data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL, Storage, and Realtime services). We retain your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after account deletion to comply with legal obligations. You can delete your pet records, posts, and messages from inside the App.
5. Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your GROOMi account from inside the App at Profile > Delete Account. After you confirm the action, your account record and all associated data — pet profiles and photos, bookings, favorites, visit history, community posts and comments, direct messages, and notification preferences — are removed from our active systems. The deletion is processed immediately; backups containing this data are overwritten on our backup retention schedule. Your sign-in record on Apple, Google, or your email provider is not deleted by GROOMi — to remove the GROOMi connection from those services, manage it from Apple ID or Google Account settings. If you cannot access the in-app deletion flow for any reason, you may also email gydelimited@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will process the deletion on your behalf.
6. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own, including Hong Kong and other regions where our backend providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at gydelimited@gmail.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Security
We use industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS) and database access controls (Supabase Row-Level Security policies) to protect your data. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective on posting; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
